Heart Punch Ideas From My 7 Year Old Daughter

I was working on this card and admiring the beautiful punched shapes when my dd asked if she could borrow the punch.  Sure.  She started busily working away at her desk with some paper that my sister had given to her. I continued on with my card.

As I made this folded-paper-with-ribbon-embellishment she asked to borrow some brads.  No Problem, Help Yourself.  I finished stamping and inking the edges of the card.

She then showed me her butterflies.

She wanted to hang them on the wall in her little reading room (aka closet.)  I suggested adhering them to a piece of covered chipboard.  She chose the color below and then stated she wanted to hang it with ribbon tied in a bow in the middle.  Here is her completed project - with a little help from me in executing her plan.

After complimenting her on her clever idea she said she also thought of making a flower.  So off she went.  Here is the flower she made with the same punch.  It is leaning on the black paper for the photograph, but she made it to go into her pencil jar, like a cut flower.

Children are such great "out-of-the-box" thinkers.  She inspires me everyday.  My life is so blessed to work with such a sweet and creative person.  I love you.

We made a little video explaining her thought process and techniques:

The stamp set used on the card is from the Art Philosophy Collection.  The papers on the card are from CTMH's Lucy Paper Packet.
