Last Scrapbook Layout made in 2009

These pages were done using the Felicity papers from CTMH. The word "Crochet" was stamped using the Posterboard Alphabet.

Mad dash to finish some scrapping before the end of the year!

The top picture is from dd's 7th grade picture (she is now in her second year at college.) The papers are from the new Felicity kit from CTMH.
Dd2 was sick on her birthday, but she wanted to get her picture taken anyway. Here she is on her 5th birthday - this year. Impressive that I actually have something relatively recent scrapped! :-) The layout below is from when she was 13 months old.

I had an unspoken (unwritten) goal to get caught up with at least One of my dd's scrapbook pages by the end of the year. Well, it didn't happen. That is ok, I have lots of fun pages planned for next year! At least that is my story, and I'm sticking with it.

Recipe Book Cover on Display Album

I didn't put much on the cover because my sister is likely to keep this on a shelf smooshed between other cookbooks.

Flip Flaps in Display Album

Flip Flap on top of the rest of the recipe. (Above picture)
Open Flip Flap (above) and the back side of where it is attached (below.)

I put this project away shortly after starting it a few months ago because I had a long recipe that wouldn't easily fit on a 6 x 6 page. It stumped me until I realized last week that if it was to be sent out to my sister anytime before Christmas, I'd better get moving! All of a sudden I realized that I could use a Flip Flap to list the ingredients for the Cinnamon Pecan Rolls. These rolls are easy to make with any bread machine and according to my dh, "Better than the State Fair's." He assures me that is a compliment. :-)
Here is the recipe from the Oster bread machine's owner's manual (several years and machines ago.)

Dough:

1 cup water

1 egg

2 tablespoons butter, softened

3 ¼ cups bread flour

¼ cup sugar

1 teaspoon salt

3 teaspoons regular active dry yeast

Topping:

1/3 cup butter, melted

½ cup packed brown sugar

1 tablespoon corn syrup

2/3 cup pecan halves

½ cup granulated sugar

2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

2 tablespoons butter, softened

Place all dough ingredients in bread pan in order listed.

Press Dough Cycle and start machine.

Grease 13x9x2-inch pan.

Mix 1/3 cup butter, brown sugar, corn syrup and pecan halves. Spread mixture in pan.

Mix ½ cup white sugar and the cinnamon. Flatten dough with hands or rolling pin into 15x10-inch rectangle. Spread with 2 tablespoons butter; sprinkle with sugar-cinnamon mixture. Roll up tightly, beginning at 15-inch side.

Pinch edge of dough into roll to seal. Cut roll into 1-inch slices. Place in pan.

Cover; let rise in warm place about 1 hour or until double.

Heat oven to 375. Bake 22 to 27 minutes or until golden brown. Immediately invert pan onto heat proof serving plate or tray. Let pan remain a minute so caramel can drizzle over rolls. 15 rolls.

Check back for more pictures tomorrow. :-)

Favorite Family Holiday Recipes

I've been working on compiling some of our favorite recipes and putting them in a My Creations Display Album.
The book starts with a couple of snacks. There are lots of recipe for sweet items. Here is one that 5 yo dd and I made the other day.

This is the easiest one to make. My dh looks forward to the baking season because these are his favorites.

Christmas from a Papercrafter's Perspective

I love Christmas. The way it sounds, smells and tastes! I love how it brings out the creative side of so many people as they make gifts from their hearts. The internet is an amazing source of inspiration and I was lucky enough to have stumbled upon these ideas in the last few weeks. The first is a mug made out of (what else?) PAPER! And the second is a 3 x 3-inch album fashioned into an ornament. For directions on the mug please visit this site and to see what the album looks like in it's 'raw' state, please visit here.

Shaker Card

This fun card is a standard size card base with a Colonial White frame made with a transparency sheet sandwiched with 3 D Foam. I stamped images from CTMH's Snow Flurries set using Versamark ink on black cardstock and then embossed using White Daisy powder. Inside the sandwich, I poured some ancient white chunky glitter.

Ms. Holiday Cheer

The first two are paper pieced and fun flocked. There is a little liquid applique on her hat.

Both of these were embossed, one in silver - the other in gold. I used CTMH's Twinkle Brads for the ornaments and star.

This stamp set is so cute! Here are a few of the cards I made as I was playing in my stamping room the other day.

More Christmas Cards

This is a window card and the one below has a ribbon for a belly band to hold it together. Both would be great as gift enclosures due to their smaller size.

CTMH (Faux) Glimmer Mist

These cards were made by spraying CTMH's White Daisy cardstock with Outdoor Denim Reinker mixed with Create A Shade Pearl Paint and rubbing alcohol. It dries fairly quickly, but does tend to curl the paper a bit. The last card is a circle card from a design in the Wishes book by Jeanette Lynton.

A Martha Stewart and CTMH Christmas

I can't help it, I love Martha's punches. They are cute, functional and easy to use. Here are some cards that I made using CTMH supplies with MS Loops (I think) punch set.
